The ‘Morning After’: A wedding album with a different spin

Sexy new breed of wedding photography captures intimate moments days, even weeks, into a new marriage

Wedding photographers are being invited to an unusual kind of after-party.

Brides and grooms — who already often obsessively document their first kiss, first cake slice and first dance — are adding yet another first to their wedding photographer’s list: the morning after.

Sexy shoots featuring rumpled beds and steamy showers are a hot new trend within the wedding business. As the seating charts and floral arrangements fade into memory, these intimate photo shoots take place in newlyweds’ bedrooms or even the hotels where they’ve spent their first night as husband and wife.

“We do it very sexy and implied,” said New Jersey-based photographer Michelle Jonné, 34, who charges about $650 for the service.

The collections often share a torrid theme: couples tumbling in the sheets in various stages of undress, baring almost all to their partner and the person behind the lens.

“I wanted to do the shoots to show that [marriage] is happy … it’s sexy and it’s not over,” said Jonné, who is inspired by the lusty Emporio Armani ads featuring shirtless soccer star David Beckham and his equally sultry wife Victoria.

Past happy clients include Inna Shamis.

“The minute she told me, I thought ‘that is brilliant,’” Shamis said. “When you get married, you’re in the best shape of your life and why not have these memories.”

“Do I think it’s a little bizarre? Yes,” said Candy Cantor, co-owner of RK Bridal in midtown Manhattan, who has spent almost three decades in the marriage business.

“There’s a sexiness to the wedding and I think that’s enough,” she said. “And I am far from a prude.”

But raunchiness isn’t what these sensual photo shoots are about, said Melissa Squires, 39, who runs A Girl in Love Photography in Detroit.

“The feeling I try to capture is closeness,” Squires said. “That lovely calm and happiness one feels when they realize it’s for real, now they are really husband and wife.”

Make Her Swoon

Money doesn’t always buy Romance.
Ten easy and inexpensive ways to show her how you feel.

By Cody Azevedo

A major misconception that most men have is thinking that being romantic costs a lot of money, this couldn’t be further from the truth . The underlying factor behind being romantic is putting her desires ahead of your own.

It’s fairly simple to be romantic, but most men just don’t get it or they don’t want to put in the time and effort.  You can show your woman how much you truly love her without breaking the bank.

All you need are sweet, thoughtful and simple romantic gestures for her every now and then to keep the flame burning:

Erin&Josh-Grover Style Photography

1.   Create your own set of “Love Coupons”. This doesn’t require a lot of thought. Simple treats like a full body massage,  candle lit bathtub, or as simple as a movie night.
2.   Carry her to bed.
3.   Kiss outside in the rain.
4.   Place a single rose on her pillow.
5.   Have a warm bath towel ready for her when she gets out of the shower.
6.   Send her a random text that say’s, “Honey, I just wanted to tell you that you mean the world to me!”
7.   Make her chocolate covered strawberries and enjoy with a glass of wine.
8.   Go to the Post Office and mail her a handwritten card with all the things you love/appreciate about her.
9.   Rub her neck and shoulders after a tough day at work
10. Wake her up with her favorite breakfast in bed. Give her a good morning kiss and sit with her as she eats.

Fifty Shades of Fun

Christian and Ana.  There is a slim chance these names mean nothing to the BCM reader.  Yet odds are, the names are very familiar and send chills up the spine of anyone who has read the Fifty Shades of Grey Series.

If you’ve read the book, or the entire series (while going sleepless for a week while devouring each line of every page in all three books) you know that a theme for the heroine is sexual awakening, learning to trust her partner, and finding excitement in mutual pleasure.  The editors at BCM had the idea to take these themes and the flavor of the series as inspiration for some engaging and unique bachelorette party ideas.

FiftyShadesofFun_BridalCoutureMagazineLessons in performing Pole & Lap Dances:: Imagine the opening beats of “Beast of Burden” by the Rolling Stones, and your lover’s face as you treat him or her to a private lap dance.  Pole dance studios here in the area offer bachelorette party packages that give women the opportunity to learn some simple skills of seduction.  The classes can also boost the confidence of brides and their maids which is a key ingredient in the recipe of intimacy.
An Evening Exploring Intimate Apparel & Accessories:: Do you know somebody, or have a friend of a friend, who knows much more than you do about intimate apparel and accessories?  Host an evening in and have that friend take you through a repertoire of exciting and naughty bedroom implements, and if you don’t know already, explain to you what each item is for.
Just a Night of Being Naughty:: A final idea is to do what ladies have been doing for decades:  going out on the town and just being sweetly wicked for one whole night.  How would Fifty Shades fit into this scenario?  Lock her wrists with a textured grey tie or simple handcuffs, blindfold her and bring in a trio (or quartet!) of hot Christian Greys to tempt her, tease her, and fulfill one small, innocent fantasy before the party is over.

Remember to have her and the rest of the party sign an N.D.A and save taking pictures for the wedding. This night might not be something she is willing to share.

Wrapped in white satin and bows. My cheeks flush. A choice you made; I chose the same. You gave me diamonds, and your name. Gentle urgency your lips are warm. My fingers

tremble just a little. Tomorrow we will wake together. Tonight, I’ll follow you trusting, open.

Bridal Boudoir::Bare Necessities

We have found the gift that keeps on giving. No, it’s not a new car, no video games, or football tickets. The average male gift just doesn’t work anymore. None of the above will replace the intimate powers of boudoir.

Brides are shopping for intimates and working with their photographers to create a gift he will cherish for life. As we review modern photography, boudoir showcases a womans sensual side and empowers her to express her inner sexuality. Local photographer, Vanessa Luna of Bella Boudoir is helping not only brides, but the everyday working woman identify her intimacy through photography and art. Be it your back yard, your bedroom, or the studio. Creating a scene that only you and your future husband will share is becoming the modern gift for the groom on his wedding day.
