Married September 1, 2013
Meghan & Kurt met in the second grade and she still has the letter he wrote to her in the 3rd grade to prove that love endures, going through all of elementary school together they then reconnected years later. With such a history together, they wanted their wedding to focus on “going back to their roots.” Since they had met at such a young age, they decided to incorporate their shared childhood memories into their special day and on display at the ceremony was a childhood love letter.
The couple arranged a reading of the childhood classic, The Giving Tree, and as part of the décor they included chalkboard accents and used photos of themselves growing up for the table numbers. The tree-theme was used throughout the invitations, programs, decorations, and readings.
Meghan and Kurt wanted the wedding to be simple and casually elegant, they chose Pageo Lavender Farms (their venue) as a starting point to help with deciding on the tone of the wedding and their colors of soft ivory, blush pink, and chocolate brown. All of the elements came together and complemented the beauty that the farm already offered. The only challenge for the couple in planning their event was knowing where to stop with the DIY even though they were having so much fun with it!
