Featured Wedding ~ Madison & Ross Brayton

Married July 19, 2014

East Lake Ranch Turlock, CAView More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-19-maddi--ross Ross proposed to Maddison at her parents’ house. He had it all set up to surprise her at the front door, down on one knee with the ring in his hand so that right when she opened the door, her life would change forever. Instead, Maddison went out the garage and ruined the surprise that he had planned.  She was still surprised with the ring and excitedly said ‘yes.’

View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-19-maddi--rossThe planning started the very next week because as a teacher, summer was really the only time Maddison had to get the planning done. The first thing the couple planned was to get the venue set. As an outdoorsy couple they knew that the venue had to be outside. Upon visiting East Lake Ranch they knew that it was the perfect venue for their wedding. Ross and Maddison loved the set up and how beautiful everything was there.

For the design, Maddison was drawn to simple yet elegant, so she went for design elements with a shabby chic look. The venue didn’t need a lot of floral decorations, just a little pop of color, and they chose the color coral. Maddison thought that the coral would pop beautifully with all of the green and it did exactly that.

Maddison asked her uncle build the Arch for her and Ross, feeling that the ceremony sight just needed something a little extra.  Then her cousins Michele and Dawn took off with all of the decorations for the Arch and made it absolutely beautiful.View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-19-maddi--ross The boys were in tan since with the bridesmaids in coral, not much more color was needed. For her dress she knew she wanted something different and right when she tried on the Maggie Sottero dress, she knew that it was the dress for her!

After the couple found the venue, and Maddison found her dress, everything else just came together. Pinterest was an inspiration for some of their ideas but all the decorations really came from Maddison’s cousins who came up with the decorations for the wedding, Michele and Dawn.

All of their vendors were so professional and helped the couple determine what they wanted by the first meeting; they never had to make any other appointments.View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-19-maddi--ross Ross and Maddison made sure to add some fun elements as well, such as a cigar bar that was hosted by a family friend, and silly photos that captured the couple’s fun sides that were taken by Kori and Jared.

Mary & Jeff Standley

Married September 6, 2014Standley-309Jeff told Mary that he wanted to take her Christmas shopping in the city. After spending the day shopping they went to Union Square to take a picture by the Christmas tree. Jeff started acting different, he was stalling and looking around. Mary turned and noticed their friends, Nelson and Lilia, were walking towards the couple smiling. She looked back at Jeff and he was on his knee holding a ring and asked he asked her to marry him. She was in shock, but of course said yes and started to cry.

A week after Jeff asked Mary to marry him, they were invited to dinner with Mary’s parents at their friends’ estate in French Camp. The group was celebrating and enjoying dinner when Jeff and Mary were asked to join their hosts out back for a glass of wine. It was an amazing view and beautifully landscaped. A huge lawn was surrounded by towering pine trees and right in the middle of it all was a white gazebo with a glittering chandelier. The couple was exclaiming how beautiful the house was when their hosts said, “We would love for you two to get married here.” Jeff and Mary were so surprised, they couldn’t say no. Everyone toasted and the wedding planning discussions started right then.Standley-343

Jeff and Mary love food and wine, and they wanted their wedding to reflect that. They procured wine barrels from Napa to decorate the venue and had Vincent Alvarado, the head chef at Dewz, make delicious and unique appetizers.

Jeff and Mary’s dad chose the wine, while Mary picked out all the colors and centerpieces with her mom and best friends. It was crazy, stressful, and time-consuming, but they wish they could go back and enjoy every bit of it again.Standley-792

Christy & Ben Balsbaugh

Married August 1, 2014Ceremony-223There they were, working in the same industry yet they had never met. It’s hard to believe since Ben, Mr. Social, knows many, and Christy, Ms. Sweetie, was never out often on the social scene. Instead, Christy kept busy raising two beautiful children and as all single moms know, that is a full-time job. Add that to a paying full-time job as a highly productive loan officer, and it’s easy to see why she didn’t get out much.Ceremony-103Ben, on the other hand, had a different philosophy. He went out on the regular searching for his soul mate. Christy likes to tell him, “I don’t know what you were doing for the past seven years, I was here all along.”

Ben and Christy met through a mutual friend. Ben reached out to Christy via email and told her he thought it was time they met. Christy, who had not been on a date in seven years, reluctantly said yes, after doing some homework of her own of course.  After several months of dating, Ben knew she was the one. He fell in love with Christy and her heart for others. He says, “Many see her outside beauty, it’s not hard to miss. However, those who have experienced her inside beauty know how special she is.”Ceremony-92Ceremony-229
Ben took Christy and the two kids to a San Francisco Giants game. Before the game started, they went to the Ferry Building for some coffee at their favorite place, Blue Bottle Coffee. Ben then escorted Christy and the two kids to the back of the Ferry Building for a “picture.”  After lining them all up for the photo, Ben broke out gifts for Lexi (13) and Luke (6). He told them to hold them for a second. He then reached in his backpack, got down on one knee and asked Christy to marry him. He then turned to each of the kids, had them open their gifts and read 5 promises to each of them. Thankfully for Ben, they were all incredibly excited. Several months after the engagement, the couple tied the knot in beautiful Laguna Beach. Ben has an aunt and uncle who live down south and both have been battling serious health issues. His aunt has been battling stage 4 breast cancer, and his uncle has fibromyalgia. Since Ben’s uncle was once a Pastor, they wanted him to perform the ceremony and of course Ben and Christy wanted them both at their wedding. Since his aunt could not travel because of her chemo treatments, the engaged couple decided to go to them and celebrate there.Reception-112
The wedding was small, with just over 100 guests. It was simply beautiful and the setting was amazing. Christy looked stunning in a blush-colored drop-waist gown.  Mira of Mira Bridal Couture explains, “I loved that Christy wanted a blush gown.  The challenge was that the wedding was in less than four months and most designers require a four-month design time.  Christy was never nervous or stressed out and trusted everything I said and offered.  It was a wonderful experience working with a friend and bride.”Christy & Ben Balsbaugh_CMYK_Grover31

Courtnie & Dominick Betancourt

Married July 13, 2014View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-13-courtnie--dominic

Dominick and Courtnie spent a romantic Valentine’s Day in San Francisco,  while under the stars at Twin Peaks Dominick proposed. Courtnie and her mother started the planning immediately.

After touring several venues, The River Mill met the couples vision. The combination of the beautiful grounds,  Roasting Room with the fireplace, and the amenities included made their decision simple.

Courtnie wished for warm colors and decided to continue the romantic feel by encompassing a candlelit ceremony in front of the grand fireplace. With this theme in mind, the groom and groomsmen opted for a classic bow tie tuxedo and the bridesmaids in an espresso floor length chiffon gown.View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-13-courtnie--dominic

“Most importantly I wanted to keep my look timeless,” explained Courtnie. Working with her make-up artist, Jocelyn to create this look was simple. Selecting a bold red lip color with the simplicity of her gown and hair style was the exact look she desired. Overall, the entire wedding came together as expected.View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-13-courtnie--dominic

Caroline & Jared Silveira

Married June 7, 2014Caroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.comAfter a three year courtship, Jared proposed to Caroline on the waters edge in Carmel, CA. Within a few days the planning was in full-force.Caroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.com

The couple assumed they wanted a  outdoor-country feel but after visiting several venues they quickly realized that was not the right style or theme for their wedding day.  Caroline visited The River Mill with her soon-to-be mother-in-law after her mother found the venue on-line. She immediately knew she found the perfect location.

Caroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.comOnce they had the venue booked, everything else fell into place. With a French Country theme set, Caroline referenced her Pinterest boards for ideas. She knew she wanted a pop of color to play off of the romantic gardens at The River Mill and was hoping to add succulents to the mix. Inspired by this she decided on coral and mint as her primary wedding colors.Caroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.comShopping for her gown was a simple process. Caroline took her mother, sister, and soon-to-be mother-in-law and 5 dresses into her appointment she found the perfect gown.  Completed with a two-tier veil edged with beading to match her gown Caroline’s look was complete.Caroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.comCaroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.com

She was excited to share something from her late grandmother so her mother used her grandmother’s old jewelry suitcase as the wedding card box, labeled with a card, “Grandmother Mary’s Suitcase”.Caroline & Jared by Kori & Jared www.bridalcouturemag.com
