Real Wedding~ Ali & Edgar

Married October 7, 2017

When Alexandra got up and went to work one morning, she never thought that it would be the day she met the love of her life. Edgar, a patient at the medical office Alexandra worked at, finally built the courage up to ask Alexandra out after seeing her through multiple office visits. A rendezvous over coffee and bowling led to their inseparable relationship.

After their 2014 engagement, Alexandra and her mother worked closely together on all of the details. Incorporating color was important to Alexandra. Vibrant Mexican Maracas were selected as the wedding favors and Alexandra found the colors of them inspirational for the wedding décor.

“Edgar and I really wanted my dad and brother’s trade of welding to make a lasting impression on our special day,” says Alexandra. “We asked them to build a large metal ring that we would have covered in flowers for the altar which we then had staged behind us for the reception.”

On a Fall afternoon, under a sunlit sky, Edgar gazed with emotion as Alexandra walked down the aisle in a stunning Maggie Sottero strapless ballgown. They said their “I Do’s” in front of their closest friends and family followed by celebrations on the  grounds at Pageo Lavender Farm.

“As we look back on such a beautiful day, we also want to pay respects to my Grandma Francis Chapa who was not able to make it to our wedding, Says Alexandra. “She passed away a couple days later while we were Honeymooning in Maui. Edgar and I hope we may continue to love one another in marital bliss like my grandparents had for over 60 years.”

Christy & Ben Balsbaugh

Married August 1, 2014Ceremony-223There they were, working in the same industry yet they had never met. It’s hard to believe since Ben, Mr. Social, knows many, and Christy, Ms. Sweetie, was never out often on the social scene. Instead, Christy kept busy raising two beautiful children and as all single moms know, that is a full-time job. Add that to a paying full-time job as a highly productive loan officer, and it’s easy to see why she didn’t get out much.Ceremony-103Ben, on the other hand, had a different philosophy. He went out on the regular searching for his soul mate. Christy likes to tell him, “I don’t know what you were doing for the past seven years, I was here all along.”

Ben and Christy met through a mutual friend. Ben reached out to Christy via email and told her he thought it was time they met. Christy, who had not been on a date in seven years, reluctantly said yes, after doing some homework of her own of course.  After several months of dating, Ben knew she was the one. He fell in love with Christy and her heart for others. He says, “Many see her outside beauty, it’s not hard to miss. However, those who have experienced her inside beauty know how special she is.”Ceremony-92Ceremony-229
Ben took Christy and the two kids to a San Francisco Giants game. Before the game started, they went to the Ferry Building for some coffee at their favorite place, Blue Bottle Coffee. Ben then escorted Christy and the two kids to the back of the Ferry Building for a “picture.”  After lining them all up for the photo, Ben broke out gifts for Lexi (13) and Luke (6). He told them to hold them for a second. He then reached in his backpack, got down on one knee and asked Christy to marry him. He then turned to each of the kids, had them open their gifts and read 5 promises to each of them. Thankfully for Ben, they were all incredibly excited. Several months after the engagement, the couple tied the knot in beautiful Laguna Beach. Ben has an aunt and uncle who live down south and both have been battling serious health issues. His aunt has been battling stage 4 breast cancer, and his uncle has fibromyalgia. Since Ben’s uncle was once a Pastor, they wanted him to perform the ceremony and of course Ben and Christy wanted them both at their wedding. Since his aunt could not travel because of her chemo treatments, the engaged couple decided to go to them and celebrate there.Reception-112
The wedding was small, with just over 100 guests. It was simply beautiful and the setting was amazing. Christy looked stunning in a blush-colored drop-waist gown.  Mira of Mira Bridal Couture explains, “I loved that Christy wanted a blush gown.  The challenge was that the wedding was in less than four months and most designers require a four-month design time.  Christy was never nervous or stressed out and trusted everything I said and offered.  It was a wonderful experience working with a friend and bride.”Christy & Ben Balsbaugh_CMYK_Grover31

Courtnie & Dominick Betancourt

Married July 13, 2014View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-13-courtnie--dominic

Dominick and Courtnie spent a romantic Valentine’s Day in San Francisco,  while under the stars at Twin Peaks Dominick proposed. Courtnie and her mother started the planning immediately.

After touring several venues, The River Mill met the couples vision. The combination of the beautiful grounds,  Roasting Room with the fireplace, and the amenities included made their decision simple.

Courtnie wished for warm colors and decided to continue the romantic feel by encompassing a candlelit ceremony in front of the grand fireplace. With this theme in mind, the groom and groomsmen opted for a classic bow tie tuxedo and the bridesmaids in an espresso floor length chiffon gown.View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-13-courtnie--dominic

“Most importantly I wanted to keep my look timeless,” explained Courtnie. Working with her make-up artist, Jocelyn to create this look was simple. Selecting a bold red lip color with the simplicity of her gown and hair style was the exact look she desired. Overall, the entire wedding came together as expected.View More: http://koriandjared.pass.us/2014-07-13-courtnie--dominic
